Holistic and Massage Therapies
After your treatment, you will be feeling in a relaxed state and may notice profound changes in your body and mind. In order to receive the maximum benefit from your treatment the following aftercare advice is recommended:

Drink plenty of water or herbal drinks for 48 hours - this will help detoxify your body

Eat a light meal for the rest of the day or evening

Avoid the consumption of alcohol and caffeine for at least 48 hours - as this can have a dehydrating effect

Try to relax for the rest of the day or evening
Treatments are designed to rid the body of toxins and waste and consequently you may experience some adverse feelings after the treatment such as:

Feeling worse before feeling better (e.g. headache)

General feeling of fatigue

Totally energised
These should be regarded as positive reactions indicating that the body is healing itself.
If you have had an Indian Head Massage using oil, leave the oil in for as long as possible, as this will make your hair soft and silky. To remove the oil; shampoo straight onto dry hair, rinse and then shampoo and condition as normal.
Hair Removal Treatments
After your treatment, it is best to avoid the following for a period of up to 24 hours or until your skin looks and feels normal again:

Deodorant

Heat treatments

Hot baths

Make-up

Perfumed lotions

Self tan

Soap

Swimming

Tight fitting clothes
It is important to regularly exfoliate the skin, where appropriate, this will avoid in-growing hairs.
Manicure & Pedicure Treatments
Regular professional manicures /Pedicures are recommended to maintain healthy hands and feet, nails and cuticles.

Use mild soaps to prevent the skin on the hands drying out

Always dry your hands properly to prevent the skin from cracking and becoming sore

Remove rings before washing hands
-
Apply hand cream after washing your hands to keep the skin soft
-
Wear rubber gloves where possible for household chores to protect the hands
-
Wear gloves or barrier cream when going out in the cold weather to protect the hands
-
Rub cuticle cream into the nails and cuticles daily to keep them soft
-
Always apply a base coat before applying nail polish to prevent the nails and prevent them staining from the nail colour.

Use acetone free nail polish remover as it is less harsh on the nails
-
Eat a balanced diet to promote healthy skin and nails
-
Use nail strengtheners to reinforce weak nails
-
Use an emery board to smooth off rough edges on nails. Avoid using metal nail files and always file in one direction
-
Regular buffing of the nails gives them a healthy pink shine and stimulates the blood supply.

Regular hand exercises such as, fist clenching, wrist circling and finger spreading improves the circulation and keeps the joints more supple
-
Always dry your feet properly to prevent the skin from cracking and becoming sore
-
Moisturise your feet after bathing to keep the skin soft, and use a foot file/pumice to remove hard skin.

Regular foot exercises such as ankle circles, rotating of toes together with regular foot massages helps to improve the circulation as well as keeping the joints supple

When clipping toenails, always clip straight across and then use an emery board to smooth of the sharp edges.
